In case you missed it, last post that went out talked through how to keep a large web3 Discord server secure and safe for all. Here are the biggest takeaways:
Set up filters for new joiners
Set up Discord's Safety Tools for your server
Understand Discord role permission hierarchy
Use Principle of Least Privilege to keep access to a minimum for average members
Use advanced tools like moderation bots to monitor and moderate chat

Bit of a different post today, I'm back from Permissionless last week and needed to get these ideas about social out of my head and into written form.
I've been tinkering around in Farcaster the last few months, and I've found some key learnings to surface for y'all. Let's dive into the takeaways from my personal experiments for social media success on Farcaster.
Involve other people in your ideas
Don't be afraid to use multiple platforms
Have a hype squad at hand to boost content to new people
Know and jive with the vibe
Just hit send
No, seriously. If you're going solo, you're doing it wrong. Get other folks tangled in your web of brilliance early on.
More, Better, and Iterated Ideas: Incorporating others in your project means a shitload of fresh and dope ideas. You get different inputs and perspectives, ramping quality up to another level.
Ownership Feeling: When people get involved early, they feel like it's their baby too. It's like a community garden of creativity where everyone plants their seeds of genius.
Context Absorption: Sharing early drafts means folks can absorb the context better. It's like giving their brains a git diff to more easily track the progression and appreciate the final product even more.
1. FC buildooooooors:
The meme that hit Farcaster wasn’t a one-man show. It was a collab 🤝 with @cojo.eth, @cameron, @jamesyoung, and @jrf. Everyone chipped in on what was missing and how it could be spruced up. And the kicker? Each person only saw a section view to keep the final reveal a sweet surprise for them.
I monetized the meme with a Zora mint. But it wasn't strictly about monetization; Warpcast shows trending mints and even pushes notifications to members. On Farcaster minting is marketing in addition to the same methods from Xer. Dropped it in the comments.
Just remember: don’t get greedy. Don't mint anything with individuals' faces or other possible doxxing info without explicit permission from everyone.
2. Farcaster Meetup at Permissionless:
@matthew from Eventcaster and I went old school with Telegram and direct casts – no platform, no problem. Used Citycaster to find the Farcaster Austin group and juiced the event. Some peeps showed up, others spread the word. Best bit? Leveraging those multiple communities and bringing them all together.
Got some friends from Bankless DAO to show up and bring even more people. The trick? Keep that hype energy throbbing. Polls, memes, gifs - whatever gets the people going!
And constant communication -- @sean and @pol noticed that I'd borked the timezones. Our event Telegram group enabled me to repair the error and communicate it on the morning of the event.
Here's the final result of the meetup:
3. Tagging BG3 Enthusiasts:
Got crafty with this one. Searched for folks chatting about BG3 using Searchcaster, tagged 'em to get them to notice and jumpstart the conversation. Go on, check it out.
Your circle on Farcaster might be lit, but take the convo off-platform. Trust me on this, telegram groups are like steroids for communication in small groups. Shit's powerful!
Got a big thing coming? Get your off-platform gang to shout it from the rooftops. A simple "Yo, fam, signal boost?" does wonders. Don't believe me? See for yourself right here.
Here’s the golden rule: You wanna fit in? Then blend in! No plugging of your product; do share accomplishments and milestones but no direct ads unless it's in alignment. Honestly showing up as your whole self is the name of the game.
Overthinking is for rookies. Done with your masterpiece? Feeling the jitters? Tell those jitters to piss off and just hit that send button. Frequent casters get frequent engagement.
To sum it all up: Dive in, mix things up, and remember – the Farcaster realm is your playground. Just keep it real, keep it fun, and keep learning!
If you haven't read it yet, check out the excellent post for getting started on Farcaster from @cameron. It'll change your FC experience, go read it. Right now.
Eugene Wei's Status as a Service post explains human internal motivation for status and how platforms harness it to keep people coming back. TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and now... Farcaster.

Fun fact I launched divide.cash after a 2 week build in January. I didn’t know anyone on Farcaster so I shared it in a channel and @ispeaknerd.eth and @swabbie.eth just jumped in and settled a $100+ bill. That fafo early adopter energy on Farcaster is priceless and what kept me around this year.
I built it to for me and 2 friends to get some momentum. Funny thing is even though we ideated divide together on our outings we never used it once. Keeping track of balanced between friends as grown adults just isn’t a real problem. Divide got a 1000 sign ups or so but no sustained usage. That said…
It gave me momentum and confidence and a couple weeks later frames launched. I started messing with frames for fun and to growth hack a bit. I made an “instant sign in” frame that dwr casted across farcaster and twitter. People started following me after that. Investors reached out with interest shortly after.
[I was surprised VCs wanted to talk given no usage with divide and how short the build out was. I realize now it was more of a vibe check and to start an ongoing relationship, like dating sorta. But the fact that it originated from a tweet just by putting my work out there was eye opening.]
then what happened? did they reach out for a project in particular or just to get to know you?

what happened next 😀
Loved reading this, I was so hyped when you launched divide.cash been gassed on your ever since
appreciate you man, sad to miss your sf meetup
Same energy kept me here. Permission building with easy gtm is like catnip

How'd you know the name of my first blog article about Farcaster? 😂 https://paragraph.xyz/@ispeaknerd.eth/fk-around-and-find-out
Perfect.
Any plans to add EURC?
@alexpopovic has been on /farcaster for longer than I have, while he is a casual user of the platform I find it incredibly frustrating to see his posts and replies constantly unseen or ignored. He does not have time to grind away at this as I have been dedicating, and yet all of his posts and comments are quality I understand the argument that this platform rewards quality content and maybe you just arent as interesting as you think, not a direct quote-- but something I have been hearing from PBers-- how do we make sure that casual users can enjoy this space as well? Alex---- @jacque, @awedjob, and I wrote this for the hackathon, this and a lot of the other articles in this channel are great at sussing out how to break out of botville. There needs to be a net to catch real human casters and help them gamify and play the game @dwr.eth has created @evanmann https://paragraph.xyz/@jacque/screaming-into-the-void-how-to-get-seen-and-thrive-on-warpcast?referrer=0x20Da700EA03E9fe8bf3409d6F66105184AEfB2FC

I love your articles!
💖💖 thank you! what's valueful about this one for you?
Your points are quickly in and out! Not filled with ramblings (looking at myself here) of side quests. Plus the ps and pps makes me smile, love it!😊

Did y'all know I have a newsletter? Sitting down to write an outline, challenging myself to have a new post out by Wednesday https://paragraph.xyz/@ispeaknerd.eth/fk-around-and-find-out
Welcome gamers 👏 Thought we should have an introductions thread with all the new folks joining the channel What's your name, what games (or game mechanics/genres) do you like, and a little bit extra about yourself (are you building something? love to hear about it!) Vulnerability is cherished here 🥰
I go by Nerd I play western RPGs, platformers, and turn based tactics. Some favs include BG3, XCOM EW/2, HZD, Darkest Dungeon, Spelunky 2, Outer Wilds, & digital /tabletop games. Building @collabland and running a couple channels. I write words too! https://paragraph.xyz/@ispeaknerd.eth/fk-around-and-find-out
Hey there. What are some of your fave digital /tabletop games?
Hey Trish! Spirit Island is my #1 Istanbul, Terraformng Mars, and Scythe are all good TTR is good gateway game for folks new to /tabletop Here's all the ones I own
hey i'm charlie! i'm cofounder of gamer.xyz, we're building a new protocol for gamifying and monetizing communities—think friend.tech but for gaming communities. i'm also just starting to work on /arcade, which will be the best place for gaming frames. i'll be announcing more there soon. always happy to connect :)
hi charlie 👋 check out /onframe-gaming @m-j-r.eth is good people how do you see creating small closed communities being beneficial for gaming?
Just gonna casually name all the console I've owned and played in real time, not as retro gaming :) Atari 2600, Nes, Game Boy, Master System, Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Mega-CD, NeoGeo CD, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PS3, PS4, Switch. Fav game: Super Mario World.
What a gamerrrrrrrr What do you think has changed the most about how games and made and played as tech has progressed?
to be honest, not much re: game mechanics😆 I would say the things that has changed the most is, Gaming has become self aware. It used to be smthg for kids, minor. It's now the n1 entertainment industry in the world, and the naive & crazy spirit is gone. Still live in the indie scene maybe...
Darko here. Mainly into Palworld and The Ascent right now. Was on a Diablo kick until I finished last season. I have a series X but hardly touch it since getting a Steam Deck when it first came out. And now Warpcast is stealing time from that.
a deck you say? im a big fan https://warpcast.com/ispeaknerd.eth/0x97f1a9
Love playing with my deck. Might even send a deck pic of mine someday if you’re lucky
gm nerd, building onchain autonomous worlds at /crypterra Enjoying web2/traditional games for fun and web3 gaming for financial stimulus
Appreciate the honesty. Money is what brought me here 3 years ago too. Much more fun stuff to do than grind tokens nowadays 😁
100% agree!
Hi I’m Donald I like FPS and MMORPG My gaming highlights are from the inception of Xbox and Live. I was a Microsoft MVP, beta tester, E3 host, and spent too many hours playing Halo. My company @tuum is looking to build something for this channel 🫡
yoooooooo DB! was great meeting you at Permissionless last year, how're things? love to test 🙋♂️ any games you got I have a product idea for /tabletop
Thank you for your service ser 🫡
hard work but someone’s got to do it
Finally kicked my KittensGame addiction a year ago, Pikman all day, too many Hammerwatch hours, and really just love sitting down to collect some gems. I built one of the first blockchain games in 2014. Now the tech has caught up and we get to build something way cooler than we ever could
Peace & Blessings! Sean aka Mr. Wildenfree here. I just finally upgraded to a PS5 today, been PlayStation (& slight Nintendo) my whole life. Mostly an RPG & Fighting fan, big on Final Fantasy, God of War, Kingdom Hearts and Tekken series. Just picked up Tekken 8 & also grabbed Hogwarts cause I heard good things.
Welcome Sean! Glad you made it to the farside I was original PS, played a lot of rayman, Spyro, and crash bandicoot. Switched to og xbox for Halo, now PC and steam deck exclusive 😁 What a storied history, growing with the same series across consoles, that's awesome Hope we get to see some FC tourneys going too!
Gratitudes Nerd! Yeah Crash Bandicoot & Spyro were legit 😄 loved those too. Played a bit of Rayman as welll. I hear a lot about PC gaming… I’m just not quite there yet lol that’s a whole different level of investment 😂
Sup everyone. I’m a simple man… I play anything multiplayer, but mainly MMORPGs and shooters. I have the most time spent in WoW, my favorite achievement is a title from being Rank 1 on the 10v10 ladder aka Hero of the Horde! One thing I’m working on is making gaming content as my clone, and expanding /hodlhq
Hola Folks Had an Atari console and went from there. Work with a few gaming projects in web3. Building bridges with UE5, Unity and other web2 folks to embrace the builders in web3. Play lots of switch games w our kid. Speak w different leaders in the space on @aburra . Feel free to send me a DC

I call it synthesizing disparate ideas or fireflies. Either way the effort is appreciated.
Not sure what's most up-to-date, but for learning about the culture here overall, I have yet to see anyone top @cameron. This is FC canon for good reason. https://www.wysr.xyz/p/fast-rope-into-farcaster

Start here of course -> https://docs.farcaster.xyz/ 2.) @cameron fast rope essay still the GOAT as a new user guide https://www.wysr.xyz/p/fast-rope-into-farcaster 3.) /gmfarcaster podcast is a good place to jump in anytime to get latest news or subscribe for weekly recaps https://paragraph.xyz/@gmfarcaster

Thanks a lot Dan. Need to get up to speed and spend significant time here. Not trying to be left behind. Also, been trying to reconnect my wallet, I sign successfully on metamask, but it’s not reflecting here. Anything I’m not doing right?

Fixed it via desktop. Good to be back
I think it's very important to make Farcaster welcoming to non-technical folks. The founder and builder community here is without a doubt the strongest signal. However - I've noticed that the more technical convos become, the harder it is for artists and creatives to wrap their head around and chime in.
And for those who are non-technical - it’s worth continuing to TRY to be technical. It’ll drastically improve your experience.
pls ser this is a wendy’s
Yeah I know but let me tell you about EIP 4337
true BUT we've hit an inflection point. i fundamentally beleive frames is the unlock for the creative culture to thrive + flourish on FC. i've always heard that coding is a form of speech + expression; building frames and witnessing the development of all types of frames was the first time i felt it in my bones.
we were just talking similarly over in /july https://warpcast.com/ispeaknerd.eth/0x11764032 hard for artists/creatives to get attention when they just starting out too, i wrote an article on getting started on FC https://paragraph.xyz/@ispeaknerd.eth/fk-around-and-find-out
Agree I’ve tried to onboard a number of smart friends but they feel out of place when they don’t care about crypto tech/philosophy That said, this is definitely the element of farcaster that’s been most precious and useful to me as a builder Hopefully continued channelization can get us best of both worlds!
I think it's begun. Last year, conversations on FC were purely tech and crypto. Now I see so much fun and culture compared to last year. Think its a gradual process but its shaping out quite well.
What’s the best way to build your audience here?
cast a lot. cast into channels. see what content gets likes and engagement. cast more of that. repeat. i wrote something about it https://paragraph.xyz/@ispeaknerd.eth/fk-around-and-find-out @cameron's article is REALLY REALLY good too https://www.wysr.xyz/p/fast-rope-into-farcaster
Thanks for the shout my guy 🫡
